hibernate software package provides smartly puts your computer to sleep (suspend to RAM or disk), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hibernate
hibernate is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hibernate package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hibernate *
You will get with hibernate package name, version, architecture and description in a table
